Hyrule Warrior Legends ArtJust before E3 2015, one of the many titles to leak ahead schedule was Hryule Warriors Legends for the 3DS. For those unaware, Hyrule Warriors is a hack-and-slash game from Koei Tecmo, which takes the Dynasty Warriors formula and adds a Legend of Zelda spin to it. It’s actually a fantastic game, and I highly suggest picking it up if you are a WiiU owner.

With the announcement of Hyrule Warriors Legends, it was revealed that many characters from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker would be added as playable characters, including Toon Link, Tetra, and the King of Red Lions. It was also noted that more would be announced in the future. Well the future is here, as the latest issue Famitsu magazine revealed that Skull Kid and Shadow Ganon will be playable in the upcoming 3DS title.

Hopefully these characters will be making their way to the WiiU version through DLC. It was announced at E3 that those who purchase copies on the WiiU and 3DS will be able to add The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Toon Link to the WiiU version by connecting the two versions. I still really enjoy the game on WiiU, and would love to have a reason to pick it up again.

Hyrule Warriors Legends Toon LinkOn a side note, Producer Yosuke Hayashi recently said in an interview with 4Gamer that stereoscopic 3D will only be available on the NEW 3DS console. Due to processing power issues, and the desire to have as many enemies on screen as possible, Koei Tecmo decided to remove 3D from the original 3DS model. Even without 3D, it’s amazing that they are able to cram such an action packed game onto such a small handheld device.

Are you excited to see the character roster of Hyrule Warriors grow? Or have you moved onto bigger and better games? Let us know in the comments down below!
